Meet the Choirs
​
The CHS Concert Chorus is a mixed chorus comprised of 9th-12th graders. This ensemble strives to not only create a quality mixed ensemble sound, but also aims to teach students the foundations of music education no matter what their previous experiences. This group meets during the school day and has twice a month evening rehearsals.
The Concert Chorus performs in local and national choral festivals and consistently earns Superior Ratings at both in-state and out-of-state Choral Festivals.
Concert Chorus
Established by Nectar Lennox in 1965, Clef Singers is CHS's advanced mixed ensemble comprised of select singers in grades 10-12. This ensemble performs a wide variety of literature and performs extensively throughout RI.
Clef performs in local and national festivals, consistently earning Superior Ratings, Best Choir Overall, and Grand including National Champion at OrlandoFest. Singers meet during the school day and rehearse every Wednesday evening. Students must have a year of experience in Concert Chorus and audition for Clef Singers in February.

Ms. Santo oversees the Choral Program at Cumberland High School where she directs the Concert Chorus, Clef Singers, Women's Chorus, and Men's Chorus. She also teaches Piano Class, Music Theory, Electronic Music, and Unified Music. Under her energetic and positive leadership, the Cumberland Choirs have expanded in number and have brought recognition and pride to Cumberland. She has previously served on the faculty of the Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Community College of Rhode Island
Ms. Santo earned her Master of Music from The Hartt School of Music and a Certificate in Vocal Performance from The University of Connecticut. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College where she was a recipient of the coveted Riva V. Bicho Memorial Scholarship, and upon graduation was honored as the Outstanding Music Graduate of her class. She is a frequent adjudicator and choral festival manager, as well as a member of NAfME, RIMEA, ACDA, and RINATS.
